A) Recently we had the pleasure to convert an 18^th century coach house/stable into a two bedroom luxury residence. See sample photos of works in progress The major complication with this conversion, was the building had previously suffered from subsidence as a result, a great deal of underpinning was required and the building then needed an internal steel skeleton.To keep the building in character the steel needed to be encased in oak... Another challenge was the windows. As can be seen in the photo (Above), The building consisted of a “round top style” window and arched brickwork To the exterior. As the subsidence occurred the apertures changed shape. As a result, new windows had to be made on site. We were restricted by the size of the round top windows, so as to allow extra light in, we boxed out to expose the original arch brickwork B) And in contrast, this hi-tec recording studio came with its own challenges.....
